finally.

This weather is going in a direction I'm at least a bit of a fan of. It's no England, but I'll take it over stifling heat and sweaty humidity.

I don't know how I'll get through the autumn, though. It's by far my favourite time to be in England. I have a couple friends going there on the abroad program and knowing they're there, seeing their photos: It's gonna tear me apart.

Money is probably the most stress-inducing thing on earth. Completely on a different note, but srsly. I can't think of anything, besides my phobia of vomiting, that brings me more stress in life. I hate to say it, but I know life would be so much more comfortable, so much easier, so much more bearable, if I didn't have to worry about money. I get paid Friday. Approx...$30. Awesome. I can fill my gas tank.

Sometimes, I have moments where I realise that life is terrifying. Finally, I remember to keep reminding myself it's also brilliant.

Quite.

keyword: beat.

First yoga class yesterday [ha!] and I wasn't so much feeling it then, but the mooskulls are feeling it now. Yet to move. Beat.

I've been continously getting sick, and, aha! Realisation. I can't have a single energy drink now without having an allergic attack. Caffeine is once again the enemy, and here I am, Addicted.

Whole first week's got me beat, but I'm feeling good, and so excited for everything to begin. I want to do everything. Unfortunately.

'Wet Hot American Summer' has got me beat as well. It's always a bit of a silly letdown when you realise your personal 'ism's aren't as original as you thought. One of my most famous Kristinisms: 'Yeah, well...' is actually from the scene in 'Wet Hot American Summer' where Paul Rudd's character takes a kid somewhere in the van, tells him they're going to a pizza party, and the kid goes 'I love pizza!' or something along those lines, and Paul Rudd says 'Yeah, well...' right before throwing him out of the van. HA. Not my original. Totally thought it was. Turns out, I get most things from Stella Comedy and those related to it. Muhhh.

Post Script: It was the worst birthday ever. Migraines'nMentalBreakdowns. But the following day: Jack 'n Coke, Strongbow, Sam Adams: My three favourites: They each occurred. Thing is, turning twenty-one doesn't have the same zest when you've lived in a foreign country for an extended period of time. Just...Publicly drinking with different people now. Hm. Not complaining.

Storm today? Well, lets see how that goes.

21.

I'm twenty-one, I'm twenty-one, I'm twenty-one Today Today!

So far: Got up for an 8am CORE Science Lab on my twenty-first birthday, and it was cancelled. Majorly boug.

But yesterday, I had the luck virus. Theatre contacts, $28 shirts marked down to $12 [it still feels weird making the dollar sign], happiness despite other peoples' miserableness, ah, yes.

Although, there's something disturbing about my feelings that: Ah, I am twenty-one years old, and now, my life may begin. Hm. I blame it on the obscenely high drinking age in this country. But hey.

The term "Going Green."

Hate it Hate it Hate it. Worse than the 'proactive' phase.

23 August 2009

Aha.

It Begins.

Just about moved back in to my old apartment and it feels good.
And it feels weird.
And I feel weird.
But, oh, it shall be crazy, it shall be mad, it shall be brilliant.
Nine months more here, and I will make the most of it.

extras.

I wish it was autumn and I was in England.

Green tea sustains me.

Turns out, paper clips work as hair clips.

Highlight of my day was finding my XHD and updating its contents.

It's felt like midnight since 8pm: Think I'm still jet lagged. How?

Looking forward to not babysitting cats.

Wishing I was in London, curled up in bed with a cup of tea, reading the London Paper, and smiling smiling smiling.

I miss it this much already.

And those are the bonus thoughts of the day.

just say hullo to the ground.

I've gone a little Ben Kweller Krazy today. I never have before, so it's a little exciting.

I feel like a star today, ready to go, ready to burn, excited for the future, but I've got about five points and on each one sits srsfrustration. Little things.

No, it's more like
1. frustration
2. anticipation
3. nerves
4. paranoia
5. heat haze

I swear, it all comes back to the heat. And just this overwhelming anticipation of the week, and the year, to come. I'm so excited for it all, but it's bound for the crazy-lane and I'm nervous about how I'll hang on.

Okay, kiddo, quit talking in metaphor. Now's good.

One thing I will miss about this dreaded week in the woods is the privacy and the freedom I only get here. To leave doors open, to close doors tight, to disgust myself, to laugh at myself, to run around, to sit on my arse, but most of all, to play my guitar outside, belting through the trees, or to sit on my staircase with all its wonderful acoustics, serenading a tiny white kitten.

It's not so bad here, really. I just have this terrible fear of stillness and immobility, and therefore is Connecticut treacherous to me.

Back East Tomorrow.

lagged jets.

I mean, I'm assuming it's still jet lag that's got me all thrown off. So tired, waking up at crazy times. I got up at six o'clock this morning. Yup. True. Luckily, that's just about my favourite time of day, or soon after it. It's nearly eleven o'clock now and the AC is raging in my bedroom. Yeah, I gave in. I'm very much anti-AC's and fans as white noise bothers me more than one could imagine, but this weather is simply unbearable. Take me back to Englandplz.

I basically have to organise and pack up my life and I've got tomorrow to do it. I'd like to give that fact my very best Keanu Reeves Whoa.

The heat has really, really got me down. It's been invading my thoughts more than it should. It's blocking everything else from getting through up there in my mind. I'm working all sloggish on account of it. Ready for autumn, at this point. Just wanna wear tights and leggings and never, ever be sweating!

The quote from the DW episode 'Love & Monsters' that I've blorged in the past has been stuck in my head.

"The truth is the world is so much stranger than that, so much darker, so much madder...and so much better."

I think that I shall post it above my bed and remember it always.

14 August 2009

the lights the lights the lights and the sound the sound the sound.

Oh, wow, I really, really miss the city. Not just London, but the city, and living in the city. I've been back in the States for three days now, and it's already been too long, though I've fought the jet lag off this time like a real trooper. I'm going back to Beeristol tomorrow and am stopping in Provvy on the way [to buy more clothing!] and just...to be in something that somewhat resembles a city again! I swear I shall go mad within the next ten months.

I'm ready to be semi-permanently living somewhere that isn't Connecticut, or 'rural' or 'suburban' or anything of the like. Noise and sidewalks and public transport and theatres and poor people and rich people and fast pace and places to go and sights and sounds and smells everywhere you step?

Yesplz.
