ben whishaw.
Is so adorable, even as a murderous eighteenth century man all full of olfactorinsanity. Despite everything this movie posesses, it's making the possibility of moving to France seem justifiably even more wonderful than before.
But back to Ben, what I would give to see him perform 'Some Trace of Her' on the Cottesloe stage again! Mmm live video projection is scrumptious. I imagine it tasting like fudgy chocolate cake, or butterscotch pudding, or both.

oH Lord,
We know what we are, but know not what we may be.
The production of Hamlet that I saw in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2008 with David Tennant and Patrick Stewart is now on PBS in its film version. Nothing has made more sense in months.

this past week..
Easily defined as: Biting down on a towel, hoping that it will suppress the pain, wincing through it all, having to forge on through.
And, no, I haven't just had Andrew Bird tunes stuck in my head.

you say potato...
I passed these two young gents and the following conversation [monologue] ensued: "No, seriously, it was one of the finest films of all time. Kazaam is truly a masterpiece! I mean, Shaquille O-fucking-Neal's first major motion picture...Oh, and Steel - Have you seen that?"
Yeah. Luckily, I've workshopped this kid's writing. He's surprisingly talented.

mango tea in the city [unmarked, unknown].
Sophie Madeleine's "The Stars" is like mango tea. I must have listened to it at least six times on the way back from Boston tonight. It's like mango tea. I kind of forgot about it for a while, and suddenly it's new and exotic again. It makes me feel hopeful, and tentative, and starry. I'll forgive the fact that this ukelele trend among my generation of convenience-seekers is making me feel uneasy and slightly congested.
Enjoy. At least six times..

a literary memory.
When I was about thirteen, I was in a bookstore, and decided I needed to find a new way of picking out books since I had a limited amount of literary taste at thirteen [considering I never did dig popular fiction, but I'd made it through most of the Dickens collection already]. I proceeded to pick out a novel by deciding which author's name sounded the most bitchin [not that I used that word at the time - I limited my language to what could be said in a PG13 film, which was a lot more tame back in those days.] I picked a book by Somerset Maugham: The Razor's Edge, in fact. I don't think I ever read it, but it's got to be in a cardboard box somewhere [the travesty of my life - One of the greatest dreams I look forward to living out in the near future is having my own bookshelves on which to put all my books].
I am now in a generic Thesis course on American culture from 1920-1940. If we were concentrating on the British, I might have finally read that damn book.
But it still stands: One of my favourite Family Guy moments, because we all have them, is when Peter hopes it's not 'Mom' and says under his breath "Please be Somerset Maugham, please be Somerset Maugham. Damn!"
Hilarious.

allergies.
I had three different dreams last night, in which I did or did not get the one job that I really want:
In the first one, I did not get it.
In the second one, I also did not get it.
In the third one, I totally got it, and this is the one I remember most of all.
Three is my least favourite number.
But what does this all mean?

why is your a-string red?
...And I don't mean a thong.
This is called blood spatter on my guitar.
Sorry if it's graphic. [not really]
But it goes to show,
There's such thing as rockin' out too hard.

willllsonnn....willllllsonnnn!!
Today, I finally bought myself a tennis racket. Finally! The only thing that could equate is when I buy myself a bicycle. That's next.

It's purple. I can't wait to use it...in action...with my glasses...sitting on top of my head.
GO FOR IT.

français loufoques
Discovered these guys this morning. This video! Hilarious! Silly! Love it! At first, I thought I wouldn't dig 'em without the video, but this is false. I bought a few tracks, including this one, and they're pretty fantastic. And most of them [the guys in band, that is]: intensely attractive. Go for it.
The crazy part is when the video ends and all of a sudden they're talking! In French! And you're like - Blimey! They're French! Whaaaat?! ...Cool.
