Started rehearsal at 10:30pm. Finished just after midnight. Play's about a half hour.
'Nuff said. Welcome to tech week.
My throat is still in ridiculously intense pain. Mono's not my friend, neither is Anemia, I am so ridiculously tired right now.
The Second City troupe was hilarious, so hilarious. Go figure my favourite sketch was one from the archives, written by Stephen Colbert.
The show will be [knock on wood] amazing. We stmubled through tonight so hardcore, but I have faith. If it was running smoothly, it would look fantastic. I'm proud of my work.
It does suck, though, when you see the people not coming to your show. I never realised until now how much work and devotion directing is. And I still love it. This means the world to me. I am already a Stage Management student, easy, but this play - This play here - Is the thing that basically decides if they will let me also concentrate in Directing. This is a huge deal for me, world. I'm laying emotions on it. Big emotions. People don't realise how much this means to me.
But most importantly, things make me laugh.

music.
There are times when I'm playing guitar, singing, you know, making music
I just don't want the song to end. I really don't.
But if I play it over and over, I'm just weird.

It's All I Talk About.
We all know LAMDA and London and England are all I talk about.
BUT THIS IS REALLY EXCITING.
Kow who else went to LAMDA? Colin Baker, also known as the Sixth Doctor. YES. One of my favourite quotes came from him: Rest is for the weary, Sleep is for the dead.
That makes me smile.
Also makes me smile?
LIVERPOOL KICKED ASTON VILLA SO FREAKING HARD YESTERDAY. 5-0, HELLFREAKINGYES. And Rafa thinks they still should have scored more. I dunno, man, I'm happy with it. They pushed Chelsea back into their place and took back second. Hopefully that weird streak of draws is over. I'm a happy fan. I think I even had a dream last night that I was there.
Probably because I'm back in my bed. Ah, it feels so good to be back in Rhody. As much as a week playing my guitar in the woods was lovely. I need action, kids.

Bahaha, Oh, Miley.
Miley Cyrus claimed she's going to ruin Radiohead.
If I had a Twitter, it would currently say something about how I'm laughing.
Oh, Miley, lil darlin. If Thom Yorke giggles, which I'll bet he does, he's doing that right now. As am I.
Wow, in completely unrelated news, my entire stay in England is almost completely booked and planned and it has turned out to be an exact three weeks total. I am very pleased!

How Did I Live Here So Long.
Back in my hometown - Town I've lived in since I was born - For almost a week and I'm already losing it. I have my moments of relaxation, especially when the weather is nice and I can go hang in the woods, but this is slightly unbearable.
I need to be back in the city.
Specifically London.
But I really miss living in the city.
I miss the grocery store being a five minute walk away [or six minutes, according to TFL]. Any amenity close at hand - A quick walk, or underground or bus ride. When I lived in London, it took me practically the same amount of time for my entire walk to and from Sainsbury's and my entire time shopping at Sainsbury's as it takes just driving to Stop & Shop here or back in Rhody. Unacceptable. I love driving - I still do - And I can't deny its therapeutic effects it gives me sometimes - But I've had just about enough, thank you.
Of course, as I'm typing this, the Cold War Kids come on my iTunes to describe my pain and discontent: "There's nothing to do here - Just whine and complain..."

I Still Can't Believe It.
I haven't stopped smiling since Friday. I am so proud of myself. One of the world's most prestigious drama schools - Really? And they are taking me in? I am ridiculously grateful, ridiculously lucky, and so ready to work my butt off further to get there [financially, dontchaknow]. I've already started writing up my budget - All the things I have to be able to afford. It's going to be really hard work, but I saw so many adorable cardis and DVDs today and passed them all by...with a grimace. I can do this. It is worth it.
Because nothing makes me as happy as England does.
'War Horse' is coming to the West End. I'm going to see it again.
I'm fitting in a weekend trip up to Liverpool, fawning over Anfield Stadium. I've just started to logically plan the trip as a whole, realistically, and I don't think, unfortunately, that Iceland is going to happen this time. Temporary plan at the mo' is to come a few days early, maybe stay with friends until LAMDA will let me into housing [unless they'll let me in a few days early which would be amazing], stay at LAMDA those two weeks of the course, maybe take that weekend in the middle and do a day trip or something [Brighton, maybe?], then stay a few days after, stay overnight in Liverpool and give it the attention it deserves, return to London and maybe stay at the 'Wick for a couple days just like old times! Because Liverpool needs to happen and that plus a trip to Iceland, plus the extra days in London really starts to rack up the money. And I'd rather spend more time in England than going elsewhere. Anyway, that's all temporary until I get my package from LAMDA. Okay.
I'm sad that Costa's hot chocolate orange won't be in season, but totally ready to digest endless bubble gum gelato from that place by the Eye. And pint by pint of Strongbow, needless to say.
This may be most of what I write about for a good long time.
London in summer.
I can't stop looking at my photos from September-December. The smile won't go away.
In other, more recent news, countdown to the Mountain Goats show is ten days!! I've been playing "Going to Georgia" and "This Year" on my guitar non-stop. Can't wait.
Spring break is necessary. But that doesn't stop me from disliking it. I will actually have time to get stuff done - Already have! Rehearsal schedule, done. Awesome. But I miss my friends and kitten.
Good news in the world of HILARIOUS: When I search its name, a photo of an ass comes up. HA! [Yes, that is meant to be cryptic. Awesome.]

London Town, I'm Coming Home.
"Dear Kristin
I am writing to inform you that your application to the LAMDA 2 week Stage Management summer course has been successful.
Entry to LAMDA is highly competitive so congratulations on achieving the place.
The offer pack will be mailed to you shortly.
We look forward to welcoming you to LAMDA."
This is the email I got this afternoon when I instantly started to scream, jump up and down, and tears started exploding from my eyes. Caitlin was just coming home and could hear me from outside the apartment. Needless to say, I don't remember the last time I was this genuinely happy. I'm going home.
I am going home.
I had kind of given up hope and it was really aiding in my low mood lately, but all is good! In July, I will be back in England, where I always have and always will belong.
And I might be stopping over in Reykjavik first! I just really want to go there. It looks breathtaking and it's not exactly the first place people think of going for summer holiday - Iceland. Look it up though - Incredible.
The srs money saving begins now. Sorry booze, car, groceries, fashion obsession, music addiction, anything else that eats up my cash. I shall say it one last time: I'M GOIN' HOME.

achesnpains.
I went to bed with fluey sort of aches.
Woke up with need to be in England aches.
Not sure which one is worse.
But instead of moving on and trying to make myself feel better, I indulged myself in TopShop's website, looking at all the clothes I can't just go to Oxford Circus and try on.
love topshop.
In other news, one of our beloved actors is very ill and can't perform in Midsummer this weekend. In fact, she's so amazing that it takes an entire tech crew to fill her spot. Our sound board operator is playing Philostrate. Our ASM is doing the first fairy scene with Puck. And I, dear readers, shall be the other half of the fairy - I'll be playing guitar and singing the fairy song. Yeah, the stage manager is taking the stage. Tonight, I shall be seen performing on stage for the first time since October '07. Noice.

what? whaaat?
I am officially disturbed as to why the genius, hilarious guys of the Whitest Kids U Know would be involved in such an inane, pointless film such as Miss March.
I have a lot more to say, a lot more to think. But my bagel bites are done.
