here's the thing..

Time passes by and blogs come and go. For about four or five years from high school, halfway through university, I had a LiveJournal [el-jay, guys], and had this guy since '08. Between those times, I've had two different London blogs and a lit-fashion blog.

Time passes and...mostly, I'm too lazy to log out of my email each time I want to blog. That's annoying. Truth be told, I really like Blogspot! Blogger...whatever they call themselves. I'm totally gonna keep it for my lit-fashion blog that I fully intend to kick back into gear soon.

In the meantime, Tumblr is the new cool place to be [and it'd better stay that way a while!]. So goodbye, sailing through silly! You were such a good, trusty ol' blog. Like a loyal steed. But it's been about half a year since I graduated uni, and I'm about six months away from finally moving to England. Now's the time!

Redirect your blog-followin' here, friends: dream away in space.

Cheers, guys!

no, but, hp, like, really.

I just...wanted to write in my blog.

Some stuff.

Outsourced is quickly becoming a favourite programme of mine, and it has only a good amount to do with the fact I pretty much fell in love with Sacha Dhawan when I saw him at the Royal National in English People Very Nice last year.

On the topic of programmes, PEEP SHOW IS COMING BACK IN JUST OVER A WEEK. That needed caps. I am so excited to see what's in store for Mark and Jez.

There's not much to say about the new HP. I'm going to see it at midnight tomorrow for my friend's big extravaganza she's created. Pretty much the most ingenius HP party you'll find this side of the Atlantic.

On the topic of HP, it's confusing when I try to shorten "Holy Pants" to "HP" like people do with "OMG." People think I mean Harry Potter. I don't. Context, people.

My baking has been most improved! I made early grey cupcakes that were the most interesting thing I ever made, and today I made traditional Shrewsbury biscuits for tomorrow's party. Delicious. If only I didn't have to go through so much butter to make so much deliciosity.

...not counting our footsteps on the ground.

Lots of accomplishments for one week!
  • Applied to grad school! And by that, I mean sent in all six of my applications for my top six universities. Now, we play the waiting game. If the fates love me at all, in less than a year, I will be back in the UK, where I belong, getting my Masters degree in Creative Writing, like I should.
  • Finished Rutherfurd's London: The Novel. [the story of the greatest city on earth]. It was on my bucket list, if you will. 830 pages of joy! The best thing about it is that I no longer have to carry around pounds of joy in my purse. I do love me a good paperback.
Can finally move on to another book! Going to do a few re-reads. It's always refreshing. Starting with Neverwhere for nostalgia's sake, then metaphorically drooling over all my Stephen Frys, simply because he's my favourite writer, by far...and for nostalgia's sake. Then, going even further back to some good ol' Dostoevsky! Starting with Crime & Punishment, then, my fave, Brothers Karamazov. Then, I'm spending my winter with the Russians!

Russian literature was made for winter.

This blog kind of veered off. Books do that to me.

novemberatin.

Know what's sad about 2010? I gave up before it began! [Yeesh!] I knew from day one [literally...I believe I was sitting at the kitchen table, watching Up, drinking Jack Daniels...'nuff said, they say] that it would not live up to 2009. Perhaps it was the addition of a 1 where a 0 once was. Perhaps it was all in my head. Perhaps it was because, somewhere inside, I knew life wouldn't be a bright, romantic change for the best the second I graduated.

Is purgatorical an adjective? Purgatorical describes my 2010.

I have no New Years resolution, but I have a resolution for my New Years. 2011 best be brilliant!
In the mean time, I'll let 2010 keep sucking. It's, y'know, doin' its thing.

You guys, John Keats had the sexiest lips.

18 October 2010

what's subjugation?

I intend to sing all of my Christmas carols this year in the same vein as Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins in Blue Lagoon.

Minus the nudity.

one more thing..

Evidently, according to TCJD, the smell of mint improves concentration.
Finally, my Trident spearmint gum chewing addiction makes complete sense!
Thank you, minty minters.
