why are we eating breakfast with mr schneider?

When I was a small child, The Monkees was one of my favourite TV programmes, and I wanted to make a show just like it, so I directed my friends in the most in-depth and long-lasting game of pretend any child has ever created.

At twenty-two, The Monkees is one of my favourite TV programmes, and I wish I could make a show just like it, so I write ridiculous scripts that never leave my computer, and occasionally direct my friends in improvised shows that are basically glorified, videotaped games of pretend.

People don't really change, it's true, and I still want to live in their pad as well.

living is an art.

I keep thinking up these plans for trips I'll probably never be able to take because I'm constantly skint. Within the past couple years, though, there are a few locations I've consistently groaned about really really wanting to go to. San Fran, Lynchburg and Nashville [JD and vintage shopping], Seattle, Oregon [in general], and Canada [yup].

At the mo, I just have this urge to go pack my most autumny outfits, get in the car with a bag of almonds and a cuppa, put on some David Bowie, and just drive all night. Southwest. And wherever I'd end up by noon, I'd find the first burrito place, and then I'd eat a burrito and figure out where the road had taken me.

I think that pretty much sums it all up.

all i want for christmas.

One thing I learned in four years of higher education theatre training is that silence often says more than words.

I believe [and I may be wrong, but] that the fact I haven't written in here in ages speaks volumes. Womp Womp. Womp.

Just waitin' for the comeback kid. Want something bloggy?

Well, this weekend was the first one that wasn't complete rubbish in quite a while. I saw 'Gidget' on the tele. Ever seen 'Gidget'? The 1959 film, not the series. I can't stand Sally Field. The Flying nun terrified me as a child. Sandra Dee, though, is great.

Anyway, it's a good one. Classic. I finally get Moon Doggy references. I want all her bathing suits.

Aww, gee.

...and it's not even lip smackers!

If my lipstick didn't taste like bubblegum, I don't know what I'd do.
[rimmel london, the cheap kind.]

welcome to federal hill.

Since moving here, I have seen:
  • a man walking around the neighbourhood in a kilt
  • a Cat in the Hat doll flattened in the street like roadkill
  • more Italian flags than I could count
  • identical green trash bins at every home [trash day team spirit!]
  • adverts for two different farmers markets! [the good news!]
This should be okay.

like, simple, bro.

Sometimes, I imagine things are really simple. Like, sometimes I think that life could be just a little bit better if my hair was longer and, here's dreaming, thicker.

Moving to a new city tomorrow, and it's like: This is a lot more complicated than it is in my head.

penultimate work of art commentary.

"My first erection was to a Renoir painting!"

Haha. Oh, Miles.

[work of art kept my summer interesting. it's completely sensical that the finale would be the week before i start my full time job.]

Miles also opened me up to my own second-biggest weakness. He says of himself "I'm really self-conscious about being young and to compensate for that, I try to do as much as I can and at a certain point point, it's too much." I hear that, brov.

upsidedownside.

I hate everything about summer EXCEPT:
  • chickens [bwark]
  • rain
  • milkshakes
  • farmers markets
  • summer theatre
  • longer to-read lists
  • looking forward to autumn.
New nntsp.. post in a day or two! Clue for the featured work: The author kicked off the book with a warning. Til then, I wrote a quick little inbetweener-post. Go check it out.
