I bought the film version of 'Billy Elliot' the other day. I just watched it with my mum.
It was really weird without any singing, very little dancing, really, and, well, with The Clash.
But mostly, the last scene brought tears to my eyes...Because I miss London so much, not because it was so touching or anything like that. Just...really miss London.
Don't want to do Theatre things. I don't feel like writing about my stage management approach or researching past productions of Miss Julie. I really don't care right now.
This is such a whiney episode, but I just want to write, and to be in England.
Ugh, Silly.
i took this photo over a year ago,
this theatre was in the movie,
there y'go.

hahaha i actually had the adverse billy eliot experience. i haven't seen the stage show but i saw a number they performed from it during the macy's thanksgiving parade and i was like WHAT THE FUCK???? because it seemed so song and dancey and upbeat and colorful and i was like uhhhh...because i've only seen the film...which is not like that hahaha :-p
ReplyDeletehm, weird. i'm guessing it was either 'express yourself' or 'merry christmas maggie thatcher.' i've seen the show in london twice and it's by far one of my favourite musicals...top 4 i'd say. i'm glad the film isn't musical...it works better that way, but the music is amazing and 'billy elliot' needs the dancing! the only problem i really had with the film is that there's not enough dancing. at least they kept the angry tap dance number, though, which is my favourite part :]
