Returning to a story you've stepped away from for a while, for the purpose of editing it, and feeling successful about the edits is like going on a first date with someone really cool. Doing the same thing, but feeling unsuccessful about the edit, is like eating an entire one of those Ben & Jerry's sized ice creams.
