underrated.

Tonight is my class commencement ball. I'm spending it in my bedroom drinking tea and watching The Monkees on VHS via my 7inch television!

As nostalgic as the smell of pine shavings, baking, hay, campfire smoke, and the sound of cows, summer bugs, John Denver, and traditional American Civil War songs are for me, The Monkees really top it all. It's easy to see how our sense of humour really forms in the childhood years. The foundation of my sense of humour obviously was built on The Monkees television show. Wordplay, cheese, doofy characters, irony, fast paced silly...

It also makes me realise how much I often dress, as a twenty-something year old woman in 2010, like a twenty-something year old boy in 1967.

It remains one of my very favourite television shows, and one of my favourite bands. It's a known fact that I had impeccable taste at age eight.
