new.

The fact that the small slivers of gappage in the sides of my four year old MacBook are now closed up with black gaff tape [lucky I sprung for the black MacBook back in the day] is really a good thing for me. Most of my expensive things tend to exhaust themselves before I even reach the point where gaff tape is necessary. Unfortunately, it's also a sign that I may have some of my father's make-it-last-forever tendencies [rarely] and I should, some day soon, give in and get a a new one...That doesn't need gaff tape.

Speaking of new things, even though it feels like just yesterday I made the big move from LiveJournal to Blogger, I've made the decision that, some day soon, probably around the time I get off my arse and get a new computer, I'm moving to Tumblr. I shall not make this sound like I am any bigger a person than I am. Truthfully, everybody's doing it. What does this mean? Not much. I'll go from four followers to zero. Honestly, I really just do this for my own exercise anyway, or for if I ever do get famous and people want to see what a silly little div I actually am, or once was. You few faithful followers, I appreciate the reads, though, and I hope you'll follow me on my little shift down the road of the interwebs.

I've been using an online blogging system since I was fourteen. What started as a way to share with my closest friends things that they already knew, but in a public place, along the way evolved quite a bit into a place for me to jot down thoughts and keep my writing in check so that even if I'm not getting actual work done, that part of my brain stays in condition. It's really pretty great and I'm glad I've continued to use it over the years.

In other news, I got completely lost, again, today, in the town in which I spent eighteen years of my life. Explain how that happens, and yet I know London, northern Rhode Island, and southeastern Mass, probably better than I know the back of either of my hands.

Alas.
