spontaneity & steven!

Today was good in many respects. In that I came to the joyful realisation that maybe this summer isn't so horribly different from last in that it looks like I might be finishing up a lot of the set on my own again after all! Which is what I love! And other things.

And with just over two weeks til I go Home, the pressure's on to suck all the enjoyment out of this place. Alas, production week on the horizon!

Today was also good in the respect that I went to Providence to buy two books that Borders did not have [their Drama section is highly disappointing and for that, I'm boycotting the place. Better luck at Barnes] and to get some cheap-o yet delicious dinner because I'm crap in the grocery department right now. Yoikes. Anywho, I ended up on Thayer Street, per usual, got my Antonio's pizza, which I haven't had in a disturbingly long time, and called my friend Katie who happened to be around at the same time as me for once! So I ate my pizza with her and we shnoogled up in her amazing summer apartment and half-watched Bridget Jones's Diary, which I first half-watched in Bath. Humph. It was spontaneous and wonderful.

Also good [today was] because, to back up my last entry, I've taken to scibbling drawings and ideas again like I hoped I would! Guess I just needed that reminder about how helpful and freeing it is. I forgot how natural it comes. And while sketching what I thought the off SR masking should look like, I ended up creating a cute yet creepy little character-guy I named Steven. I continued to draw Steven hiding behind all sorts of the set. Now, Steven is no iconic figure who is destined to bring me fame for my ingenius cartoony humour, but it's a start!

The ideas blossom when you're spitting silliness as easily as you breath.

And someday, the silly may be something.

In other news, I'm officially looking at post-grad in London. What the hell. Me. More school. Maybe I shouldn't have even said anything. Jynx it maybe. What the frick, though. Anything to stay in England. Forget I said anything, though. Yuck.
